Web Producer, Variety (Los Angeles, CA)
Variety, the premier entertainment resource, is looking for a full-time Web Producer to maintain, develop, and implement new features and improvements to Variety.com.The job consists primarily of updating and creating pages as well as maintaining the sites articles, reviews, photos, charts and email newsletters. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience using content management systems in service of a frequently updated web site.
Responsibilities and duties
- Work closely with print editors to gather, edit, produce and post stories for online use and in print
- Decide story placement on web site
- Monitor proper functioning of Variety.com
- Collect and process photos and charts for inclusion with articles, reviews and events coverage
- Contribute to the growth and development of new and improved features of all aspects of Variety.com
This position is full-time and is based at Varietys Los Angeles office. Hours are afternoon and evening, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years experience using a content management system to deliver a frequently updated news website along with a Bachelors degree.
- Knowledge of web standards and tools including Dreamweaver, Photoshop, blog software, and the AP Style Guide are highly desired.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills along with the ability to work in a team.
- Capable of task-oriented work flow with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
